My Local Family Court

Bristol Civil & Family Justice Centre

In West London the cases concerning children are mainly heard at two court centres: West London Family Court and the Family Court at Barnet. A few of the cases are heard at the Royal Courts of Justice when there is not enough room at these main two courts. The West London cases concerning financial remedies on divorce are heard either at Barnet or at one of five other courts: Brentford, Edmonton, Kingston, Uxbridge and Willesden. The question which court will hear your case is decided, usually, by where you live. Below is some information about each of those courts.

THE CIVIL AND FAMILY COURTS AT
THE ROYAL COURTS OF JUSTICE (RCJ)

https://www.find-court-tribunal.service.gov.uk/courts/royal-courts-of-justice

This court is at Strand, London WC2A 2LL.

This is a very big court building on the Strand, near to Temple and Holborn underground stations, a bus ride from Charing Cross or Waterloo railway stations and on a number of bus routes. It has a great many courts dealing with many different kinds of work, and one or two of the courtrooms are sometimes used for West London work. If your case is being heard at the RCJ then the court that usually deals with your case, either West London Family Court or Barnet, will let you know which courtroom to go to when you arrive at the RCJ.
